About Indianapolis
Attractions in Indianapolis
Indiana State Museum
The State Museum includes displays on everything from pre-history of the area to butter churning, the lives of African American slaves and settlers, and the careers of famous (and notorious) hoosiers.
Indianapolis 500 Hall of Fame Museum
The Hall of Fame Museum has, among other things, 75 sleek racing cars (including former Indy winners) and a 226kg (500lb) Tiffany trophy. You can also take a tour of the race track. OK, so it's on a bus and, at 60 kph (37 mph), you're not even beginning to burn rubber, but it's still fun to pretend as you slowly pass by the grandstand.
NCAA Hall of Champions
The NCAA Hall of Champions reveals the country's fascination with college sports. You'll probably find most Hoosiers hovering around the basketball exhibits, as locals are renowned hoop-ball fanatics.
